What each source measures and what it does not
Each source answers a different question
Visitors to a protected area, hotel occupancy and registered supply measure different things and are not added together. That is why each indicator is presented separately, with its scope stated.
Two figures are only compared if they cover the same period
A closed year, a mid-year cutoff and a high-season average do not measure the same thing, even if all three are expressed in the same unit. That is why each indicator states the date through which it is up to date, and the visitor series marks separately the column that does not yet correspond to a full year.
What cannot be answered yet
How many visitors the department receives each month, where they come from and how much lodging capacity it has. Answering that depends on providers and sector entities reporting every month, and the reporting form already exists for that. Every report that arrives brings the answer closer; without them, this remains an open question.
Statistical use only
The information collected for this system is used solely to understand how the destination evolves. It is published in aggregate form and does not identify individual establishments.
Do you host visitors in Caldas? Report it
Five minutes, once a month. It works for hotels, tour operators, attractions, information points, entities and municipal liaisons. The figures are used in aggregate form and the form publishes nothing: the Secretariat reviews it.
The reporting form is in Spanish only.
Do you work at the Secretariat? The consolidated data lives in the panel, with a password.
